As a solitary, I would be lost without this series. Cunningham, Starhawk, Amber K, etc are great, but they skip the first step. They give you a shopping list (chalice, wand, athame, etc), tell you what words to say and never tell you WHY or how to make it real instead of just a ceremony. Penczak's first Temple spends a year and a day with no frills, teaching you how energies work, how magick works, a comprehensive history of Paganism (without the martyr complex), and how science and Paganism make sense together. He is a natural skeptic and reminds us to never just do something because that's the way it is.
Until I went through the Temple teaching, magick felt like a game. Now I can feel a change in my own energy. I'm a naturally high-strung person, and doing these exercises every day has improved my quality of life drastically, by bringing me down to a state of calm.
Get it. What have you got to lose? You can always sell it on EBay, but I guarantee you won't want to.
